Mini Cini (Pty) Ltd is a property company that launched a community centre project in Berea, Johannesburg in 2014. The MC Centre aims at providing disadvantaged inner city inhabitants with a trendy, high-end technology venue for social interaction, networking, entertainment and education.
Methys was asked to build an Android application called Voucher Express relying on a vending system that allows vendors and sub vendors to sell value added vouchers to their customers on a pre-paid basis, including airtime, electricity and partner vouchers. Additionally, the system allows customers to capture their customer’s FICA documentation to offer them sport betting services and life insurance subscriptions. The Voucher Express application features an integration with a bluetooth mobile printer that allows the vendors to print the vouchers purchased by the customer.
Methys also developed a Vendor Management System allowing Mini Cini’s administrators to manage their users and vendors, update commission structures and have access to additional reporting functionality.
The following key services were completed to deliver this project.
Methys utilise wireframing tools to develop a visual skeleton of the application to aid in the functional analysis process. These wireframes highlight common UI & UX elements, and describe user interaction and navigational flow within the project.
Design mock-ups of key application components are created. The final designs take into account the latest Android UI/UX guidelines and provide a representation of the final look and feel of the project to the client before development commences.
Native Android application making use of a custom API for managing airtime, electricity, and voucher purchases, customer FICA registration (providing access to third-party betting facilities), vendor management, vendor commissions earned, and a comprehensive BI component in the form of detailed reporting. This API makes use of third party API's for electricity and airtime purchases.
Quality assurance takes place by a dedicated tester to ensure the high standards of Methys and client expectations are met. Test cases are defined during the analysis process, which are used to manage all testing and QA phases.
